Instill® Bactericide & Fungicide Receives EPA Approval for Expanded Crops and Uses Including Coffee, Potato, Hazelnut, and Sugar Beet

Visalia, Calif., March 20, 2024 – Sym-Agro has announced that the U.S. EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has approved the expanded crop uses of Instill® Bactericide & Fungicide. As a result of this approval, Instill® is now registered for use on Coffee, Potato, Hazelnut, and Sugar Beet for the management of disease.

Instill’s patented formulation allows safe absorption into treated plants, enabling the active ingredient, Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate, to move into the plant quickly and be retained in the treated plant for up to 21 days of disease protection.  Unlike other low dose coppers, Instill® absorbs into the plant tissue (cuticle) and translocates within the plant.  The result is a protective inside-out barrier for superior disease prevention and control that won’t wash off.

Instill is a locally systemic FRAC “M01” fungicide and MRL exempt, helping high value export crop growers meet increasingly stringent standards.

“This expanded registration means that more growers will be able to utilize Instill to control disease on their crops,” said Peter Bierma, Sym-Agro President. “Instill offers a proven and effective broad spectrum bactericide and fungicide solution that is ideal for the needs of today’s growers.”
